Sunrise at New Wine, Shepton Mallet

I'm a Cub Leader with a pack in Southampton and am planning to go to the Southampton Sunrise event in the City Centre. My son, on the other hand, and a number of his Cub friends are going to be at the New Wine Festival near Shepton Mallet. They're keen to take part in Scouting's Sunrise but I don't know of any Scout leaders who are going to New Wine. Can any of you guys help? There must be some Scout leaders among the 10000 people or so who go. Thanks :-)

I don't know about any leaders going, but if your son and several friends are going, can't you organise that some of the parents get them together at the appropriate time and say their promise? That way they'll have made their own event.
Providing all the parents are there there shouldn't be child safety or insurance issues.

Another possibility would be to contact New Wine , maybe they'd be willing to have a 10 minute spot for any scouts attending to retake their promise together.

Thanks those are good suggestions. I've emailed the New Wine people already and am waiting for a reply. And you're right, I guess that it doesn't have to be mega formal just as long as the Cubs and Scouts are making their promises at the right time with the right attitude. I can hook up with them by mobile phone from Southampton too :-)

why not ask them to provide a TV with a linkup?

should be possible maybe if you purchased a freeview box you could send it along with your son

or maybe a small portable tv would be possible?

just a thought anyway! may not work!!!
