    Scouting Ireland Jamboree 2008

In 2008 Scouting Ireland is celebrating 100 years since the first Scout was formed. To celebrate this event Scouting Ireland is hosting an International Jamboree at Punchestown Race Course in Co. Kildare.

The Jamboree programme promises to be wide and varied. Scouts will be encouraged to take part in organised activities and will also be given an opportunity to plan programmes for themselves in order that they can participate fully in the event. Programmes will be offered on an opt in, opt out basis offering all the usual Scout activities including...

    Hill Walking
    Survival Island
    Celtic Adventure
    Camp 100 Challenge

    The Jamboree will consist of:

    6 Provincial Sub Camps
    A Cub Camp
    A Venture Scout Sub Camp
    A Staff Sub Camp
    A Staff Family Sub Camp

The Jamboree will offer a series of programmes both on and off site, utilizing many aspects of our Scouting Programmes. Scouts will camp under canvas in open fields and set up site along with Scouts both from Ireland and overseas. The Cost of the Camp €350 will include all Ceremonies (Opening, Closing & International Day), Activities on and off site, Food for the duration of the Camp, Camp Issue (Incl. Camp neckerchief and Badge) & Activity Transport to name just a few.

A gathering of Scouts of all kinds is always a special experience, meeting old friends and making new ones, the village atmosphere, the spectacle and of course the camp activities.

Scouts and guides from overseas will also attend and add that international dimension to the Jamboree experience. We do hope your group can join us. If you are interested in joining in the adventure then contact us and let us know you would like to attend. You can do this on-line. We can then update you with all current information about the Jamboree and later you can make a final booking and sign up to attend.

Check out our Webiste at and for more information.

It promises to be a great Jamboree and we hope that many of our fellow Scouting from the Uk may be able to join us.
