I'm thinking of going. What actually happens at the reunion, can it be seen in a day or do I need to stay for the weekend?

I'm going for the day and I've just got my wristband through the post. I'll be wearing an escouts logo on my rucksack.

i'm still thinking about it, would like to go, but have a busy Scouting month in Sept and am not too sure if I can swing it! Nick, you could do it in a day, the first time I went, I only went for a day. The second time I went was the w/e that the Chief Scout was invested (had to watch that really..) so stayed the weekend (offsite) and enjoyed it, but found the Sunday dragged a bit.

You mean it won't be waiting for you when you get home? Are you staying for both days Austin and if so are you on or off site?

I must say the 'entry qualification' confuses me too. I thought getting your woodbadges makes you a 1st Gilwell member and therefore qualifed you for the reunion, not that I'm too bothered who goes mind...

Perhaps an escouts photoshoot at 10.30 Sunday may be a goer? A regular may suggest a good meeting spot?

Oh right, I always assumed as it was called a reunion that you had to have been to something beforehand sort of like a school reunion. I can't go this year as will get back from holiday on the Saturday, but would certainly be interested in going next year.

    Gilwell Reunion - admission

It used to be members of 1st Gilwell Park only, but it was never really checked in any way, and the decision was made to open it out to more people (and add a network focus) in order to increase the quality of information available to leaders...

[or make more money out of it depending on who you believe... ]

I've applied to staff the event doing bogs and bins....
