    It would be interesting to know if the Groups with the largest percentage of girls are also those with either no or a weak Guide presence in the immediate area. Round here girls tend to gravitate towards one of the more active Guide Companies, so as already pointed out, any girls in scouting are there because they really want to be, not just because its all there is.

    It's not even the right old section. Explorers are a reinvention of Senior Scouts- it's Network that are the equivalent of Rovers!!!

    This post seems to be going down the girls in scouting route. Dinosaurs are usually against girls, i would agree, but are usually against any changes at all.

    Question, if a Scouter was against girls in their troop but was more than happy with other changes in the movement, would that make them a dinosaur.

    I can think of other non-official parts of the movement who for the very reasons of breaking away are dinosaurs, but were far ahead of the official Scout Association when it came to accepting girls!
