You tend to make more money selling the phones and PDAs on ebay as the recycling people don't pay anywhere near the going rate for them.
To get more kids we need more adults - are we getting the message yet?

Well... a second hand phone is usually no use to another person unless you are unusually dextrous and unclumsy and never drop your phone.

I view people who buy second hand mobiles as having more money than brains frankly. My old mobile is only of use as scrap, the value is what the recyclers would pay for it.

The reason i get rid of mobile phones is because:
    A) its broken
    B) theres something up with it
    C) its as good as a chocolate fire guard

So anyone wanting one of my past phones must have something seriously wrong with them

Mmm... yes that sums me up too! Perhaps that's why i don't understand people who buy and sell phones on ebay, why get rid of a phone that works perfectly? Mind you I also have been using the same SIM since I started- every time I ask about leaving they make me an offer that's too good to turn down.

I should perhaps recycle those phones that are semi functional.

I dunno, people seem to want flashier toys.

I'm using a phone that was given to me to recycle that was better than mine, so a quick swap of the SIM card and a new battery and I was away. My old one got recycled, everyone's happy - yeah, I told the bloke that gave it to me, and he just shrugged "no worries, I don't need it and something get's recycled, where's the problem?".

true some people just upgrade either because they want flashier toys or they get a free upgrade witht he contract so dispose of the old model

My phone is a few years old as I love it - its the dust, shock, and splash proof nokia that has been though some wars and still goes strong (had to change the outer shell when the screen of the case got cracked but then it did fall 30 ft down a cliff when abseilling)

I wish I had a phone like that. I'd keep it for years too!

My brother had a Nokia 5140 and he managed to break his so they certainly aren't indestructible
