    Live07 from Wales??

I suppose it would be too much to expect any trips from the welsh scout council to Live07?? is any one in Wales going??

Various Groups and Districts around here are putting on coach trips. My Exporer Unit are thinking of going, but that would probably be by train, as some of us hate coach travel.

I do wonder though, why you think that the WSC should run a trip?

I will be taking a train down myself, it would have been my Explorer unit, but they have all found a reason not to!

well , we are welsh scouters, they are the Welsh Scout Council, do you not think it would have been nice if the Welsh Scout Council had sent out an email with how to book, the possibility of coach's and how to get a trip together??
Im all for the fact that welsh scout groups are independant and have survived for long enough doing thier own thing, but a little support isnt difficult.

Well Groups or at least Districts (even in the small ones in Wales) are big enough to fill coach by themselves if they want to go. It would be pointless centralisation for the WSC to book coaches and so on themselves when they have no direct contact with the kids so have no idea how many would want to go or where they would be wanting to set off from.

At a guess our County, Central Yorkshire, probably has about as many members as the WSC and I would not expect them to be the ones organising a trip to Live 07

    Question Welsh Flag??

    Hi Forumites

I've been asked to post this request on behalf of another Scouter - anyone from Wales who happens to be in the Live07 Cast - can anyone please bring a WELSH District Scout Flag? There's a little bit of the show with lots of flags and someone in the team organising that ickle bit (not me) suddenly realised they didn't have a representative District Flag from the principality....Major Whooops!!

E-mail Rob @ r (dot) a (dot) butcher (at) dunelm (dot) org (dot) uk if you can [Note it needs to be in his hands by 09:30AM on Sat for final dress rehearsals]......[Just In Time principles spring to mind.....says I..as I hopes that my stuff for the Live 07 arrives in time - and I'm not saying what it is...LOL]

Psssst... Monmouthshire is in Wales (since 1974 anyway)... or was it Torfean? One of the Gwent districts had someone at the rehearsal as a district flag bearer...

Not really. EVERY DC in the UK was sent a personal letter in the post asking to supply a flag bearer. There were also numerous chase emails sent. If the DCs won't respond, then it can hardly be the organisers' fault. I'm fairly sure at least one of the districts in Gwent is sending a flag bearer.

Is it common that messages from DC's only get passed down the line if they are of interest to that DC. Not saying that happens here just seems to be a common communication problem when reading through threads.

Why should the WSC organise something, its up to districts, groups or individuals really. Find out if anyone in your district wants to go and club together. I'm sure the WSC has enough on its plate without organising bus trips too.

Communications are always a hassle, TSA can only do so much if DC's, ADC's or GSL's don't pass the info on. TSA can't make them. Its just getting people to realise the benefits of passing info on.

Just looked up getting there (Paddington) by train from Landeilo. 4h 15mins to get there, 14h 6mins () to get back with a £63 return fare. Not many takers I feel.
To get more kids we need more adults - are we getting the message yet?
