    District Meetings

    Hi

How often do you have District Scout leaders meetings and what other methods of communication do you use in your district to publish event details

    Thanks

As Rare as Rocking Horse Poo?

Infrequently, haven't had one for about 2 years...

Well I'd say our District are quite organised.

Here's the link to the diary - so you can see the District Section Leaders meetings take place regularly http://www.cambridgeshirescouts.org....well/diary.htm

Then we have a monthly District Surgery where anyone (leaders, exec etc etc) can just drop in and see any of the District Team re training, media, forthcoming events or anything else they want to ask too.

Minutes of the District Exec are put on the District pages for everyone to see too (see the resources section)

Once a term and additional meetings to sort out the details of district camps or events as required. Probably works out at 2 meetings per term on average. Most of the communications is via emails. As the district only has 5 Scout troops and all the Leaders know each other it is fairly easy to stay in touch.

Rarely. But we do have a monthly newsletter that goes to the majority of the leaders in the District.

We have a District Leader's meeting about once a term which breaks into section specific meetings. We have an email group for the Scout Leaders which gets infrequent use.

ADC / DSL meeting every....quarter by the looks of things. We are quite a small district, area wise so it is not hard to drop in to see anyone else! If we need something sorted out, we can always just email the DC and he will sort it out!

    Got one next week actually...

We have a District Cub Leaders meeting once every 3 months, there is also the same for Scouts and Beavers too.

Our district Scout leaders haven't got together for years. Unfortunately we don't have an ADC (Scouts) and nobody else is interested in arranging it. know that our Beavers meet regularly, and Cubs slightly less so, but within the Scout section things are pretty poor. Having said that, we don't have any district Scout events so there aren't many reasons for meeting.

Communication? Pretty non-existent. We get email from County if you're on the mailing list, and regular emails from the DC about everything under the sun. I did meet one of the other SL's in the local supermarket car park a couple of weeks back...

We have no ADC Scouts so I think I will try and organise a meeting soon.

Once a year, about seven or eight people turn up.

We have twice recently tried to revive the newsletter, but I wrote most of it so we shelved the idea because no-one appears to be interested.

Meetings, barely a week goes buy without some kind of district meeting!

We are a large district though and communication is essential, the only problem is that only the 'good' ones go to the meetings and end up hearing the same stuff many times over, while the 'bad' ones don't go to the meeting and complain that they 'never get invited' or 'don't know whats going on' blah blah...

One formal one at the beginning of the year to sort out dates and responsibilities for events for the year. Then generally after scouts most people go to one of two local pubs and after events eg swimming gala we all go to the same pub and catch up.

About once a quarter with the same old few faces turning up. We get a monthly newsletter by post with relavent information with a couple of district officers trying to do the job of ten men trying to keep it all together.
