Gang Shows - when is yours?

The Gang Show season is upon us.

Let me state now that I don't do Gang Shows. It would be the ultimate in busmen's holidays! I do, however, support them (and give a bit of advice if asked - I found an MD for one this year).

Anyway, I thought a thread with dates for Local Gang Shows might be an idea so that folk could come along if they fancied it. I'll start it with our Local Gang Show:

Hastings, Rye and District Gang Show
    20th November 2008 - 22nd November 2008
White Rock Theatre, Hastings, East Sussex.

Bath Gang Show is normally June each year. This year they are also performing "A Christmas Carol", 10th to 13th December, details at http://www.bathgangshow.com/.

Greater London North East's County Gang Show - Showstoppers - runs from the 29th April to 2nd May 2009.

As soon as more info is released (probably after the cast get-together in Nov) I'll update.

Yes, I saw it - sure you are right, which is more than can be said for Gyles Brandreth's graps of Ralph Reader's lyrics!!!

Sorry to disappoint but that wasn't AdrianP!!

From a more critical point of view, was I the only person who was seething at Giles' totally stereotypican introduction to the article...

"dyb dyb dyb, dob dob dob, bob a job ,woggle"... such a great demonstration of how some people still think of scouting!!

It is not the mountain we conquer but ourselves

I started to seeth, but then I listened to what he was saying. He was saying about what it was like when he was a Cub (and how old is he? I can remember him when I was little on Thats Life!). After all, for a large majority of the show's audience I suspect they would relate to that introduction, the street interviews were also interesting I thought. The very fact that he asked the question may prompt some of those people to look up their local gang show. I would venture to suggest that those with Gang shows soon advertise them with an 'as on the One Show' tag. He also pointed out that we now take girls.

Yes, please, please don't think that's me! The closest I get to gang show is handing out the multitude of flyers we get given. I've not seen the show yet, but apparently it's not the most flattering view of scout gang shows.
